Is SpreadsheetWEB compatible with Microsoft Excel 2007?
Yes. Starting with version 2.0, SpreadsheetWEB supports files saved in new Excel 2007 (XLSX) file format

Which Microsoft Excel functions are supported?
Currently 333 of the most common Microsoft Excel functions are supported in SpreadsheetWEB. For a list of supported functions >> click here.

Chart support depends mainly on our server-side spreadsheet engine. Therefore new chart types are constantly added without requiring any update of the SpreadsheetWEB wizard.
Does SpreadsheetWEB support Microsoft Excel macros?
Currently VBA codes and macros are not supported. We recommend our customers to remove macros and VBA code from their Microsoft Excel model.
Does SpreadsheetWEB convert my spreadsheet into a proprietary format?
No. SpreadsheetWEB keeps your file in Microsoft Excel (.xls or .xlsx) format. It doesn’t create any additional files either. It stores its own code in the same Microsoft Excel file. When you upload the spreadsheet the server side application uses the embedded code to convert the spreadsheet into a dynamic web-page.

SpreadsheetWEB supports most cell formats.

Are Microsoft Excel's built-in form controls supported?
Below listed Microsoft Excel built-in form controls are currently supported, i.e. will be converted automatically. Alternatively you can use SpreadsheetWEB's own form controls that can be created during the conversion process.

Can I store the data submitted to my web-page?
SpreadsheetWEB comes with two data features:
Yes, you can create SpreadsheetWEB web applications that can store submitted data in an online database, which is automatically created once this functionality is enabled in the SpreadsheetWEB wizard during conversion. Stored data can be viewed using the control panel or downloaded as Excel reports.
SpreadsheetWEB also allows to create web forms that send submitted data to an e-mail address of your choice.
Is SpreadsheetWEB an online spreadsheet application like GoogleSpreadsheets?
GoogleSpreadsheets has functionalities very similiar to Microsoft Excel but is an application that runs in a web browser and is an online collaboration tool. SpreadsheetWEB is different in the sense that it allows to create high-performance online calculators with the look and feel of normal web pages.

Do I need Microsoft Windows to create web applications with SpreadsheetWEB?
Yes. You can use SpreadsheetWEB on Windows Vista or Windows XP
Do I need Microsoft Excel to create web applications with SpreadsheetWEB?
Yes. SpreadsheetWEB's client side software is an Microsoft Excel Add-in which works with Microsoft Excel 2003 and 2007. You need to run a conversion wizard to convert your spreadsheet before uploading it to SpreadsheetWEB servers.
Do the visitors of the web application I have created with SpreadsheetWEB need Microsoft Excel or SpreadsheetWEB?
No. All they need is a web-browser. After the conversion your spreadsheet will run on the SpreadsheetWEB server as a web application, totally independent from Microsoft Excel or SpreadsheetWEB.

How is SpreadsheetWEB licensed?
SpreadsheetWEB is licensed as a Software as a Service (SaaS) or a
Server package. In SaaS, you don’t purchase the software, you simply pay as you go. Therefore, unlike most software packages, SpreadsheetWEB doesn’t cost any large upfront charges. The
SaaS model also saves you from costly infrastructure spending. You simply host your web-pages on our servers. We also have traditional
server licensing packages available for larger organizations. For more information please visit

SpreadsheetWEB is licensed as a service. You pay as you go. Therefore, there is no need to return any software. You can cancel your online account anytime. Simply log into your paypal control panel. Click on your history tab. Find the subscription in your history and click on it. You will be given the option to cancel the subscription or renew it. Select cancel.

What happens to my web applications, if I cancel my account?
As a part of your account your web-pages are hosted on our servers. If you cancel your account, your web-pages will no longer work.

I converted my spreadsheet into a web application. I need to make some formatting changes. Do I have to go through the whole conversion process again?
Yes and no. You have to run the SpreadsheetWEB’s conversion wizard again but it uses stored parameters like selected input cells etc from the previous conversion, which makes all subsequent conversions much faster.

I uploaded my spreadsheet to the server but the web applicaiton doesn’t work. What should I do?
First, you need to preview input and output pages using the conversion wizard in Microsoft Excel. Then, check if there are any protected sheets or cells in your spreadsheet. If the problem persists, send us an email to support@spreadsheetweb.com and attach your spreadsheet. We will answer within 24-hours.
