Cambridge, MA, March 4, 2019 – Pagos, Inc. today announced the release of the SpreadsheetWEB version 6.8 which introduces the ability to add charts and maps in print processes.
This version of SpreadsheetWeb introduces the ability to add charts and maps used in designer applications into print processes. This is done through adding any number of images into the Word document used in the print process, and assigning the images stubs to match them with the charts from the user interface designer.
SpreadsheetWEB’s designer module uses named ranges in Excel workbooks to connect the workbook elements with their web interface counterparts. Individual cells in an Excel model can contain some degree of ambiguity in the sense that there might be a conflict between how a cell is defined in Excel, and what data type you would like your users to be able to enter there. The designer features some level of interpretation of workbook properties, but to overcome most limitations and allow for more flexibility when building web applications, this version introduced the Names (metadata editor) feature. The Names allows modifying the type, format, default value, reference, and a number of other features of any named range in the underlying workbook. This feature will allow users to modify cell properties without going back into their workbook and aims to bring all development processes to the control panel.
Another valuable feature that came with this update is the runtime text editor. The runtime text editor allows configuring the runtime system messages in designer applications. With the runtime text editor, SpreadsheetWEB now allows for a complete localization of designer applications – across the control panel, and throughout web applications.
