Most sales departments prefer creating sales quotes in a flexible and easily maintainable platform in order to manage complex calculations and logical operations without having to rely on programmers. The process must be agile and modifiable, so that new products can be added quickly, without weeks or months of development work. Such requirements make spreadsheets an excellent candidate since they can handle complex logical systems while still being flexible enough to accommodate quick modifications and enhancements.

SpreadsheetWeb is a software platform designed to give businesses the ability to turn their pricing spreadsheets into full-blown web applications, including complete support for the spreadsheet’s calculations and a variety of extensible features, such as customizable user interface design, database integration, and forms generation. These applications conceal the entire calculation algorithm, protecting sensitive proprietary logic from end users.

Pipedrive is a cloud-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software popular among small and medium-sized businesses. It provides users with the best possible view of the sales process.

The combination of SpreadsheetWeb and Pipedrive can provide businesses with a new way to handle sales quotes. SpreadsheetWeb can convert pricing spreadsheets from Excel into web applications, which can then be fully integrated into Pipedrive, with all of their calculations and formulas intact.

Let’s see how it’s done:

After you logged into your Pipedrive account, go to the Deals module. Create a Deal and add matching custom fields, corresponding to the inputs and outputs from the SpreadsheetWeb pricing sheet.

Using matching names will be helpful when it comes to mapping the fields between Pipedrive and the SpreadsheetWeb application. Next, go to the Apps Marketplace and install the SpreadsheetWeb extension. Now, it’s time to add the application.

Enter a name for your application. The system will also ask for the application link and its unique identifier, which you can find in your SpreadsheetWeb account.

If there are matching names, the "Auto Populate" feature can be used to automatically detect and bind the fields between the two platforms. If you used different names between the platforms, you may also add these bindings manually during this step.

Now you can run the application. Click on the "Run" button and you will see that all of the inputs from the deal are automatically populated into the SpreadsheetWeb application. All calculations will be executed, as well. Clicking on the Save button will write the data back to the corresponding Pipedrive deal.

The previously-stored inputs can also be changed. After you make modifications within the Pipedrive deal, you can run the application again and those changes will be visible, along with the up-to-date calculations. Hitting the save button will write those changes back into the deal details again.

SpreadsheetWeb also supports the ability to create fully customizable PDF documents. Those PDF documents can include inputs and calculation results with advanced features like formatting, page numbering, and conditional page generation. This professional proposal document can be printed, emailed, or shared with your customers.

In conclusion, with SpreadsheetWeb, pricing spreadsheets created in Excel can be converted into web applications. Those applications can also be embedded into Pipedrive and used in your company’s workflow to calculate and generate sales quotes.
